Lowest Temperature In Srinagar in 25 Years

 Kashmir continues to freeze under extreme cold wave conditions. Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 8.4 degree Celsius on Thursday. This is the lowest temperature recorded in 25 years. In January 1995, the temperature was recorded at minus 8.3 degree Celsius. Due to the freezing temperatures, people living in the city woke up to frozen taps and slippery roads.

The Director of Meteorological Department Sonam lotus said it was after 25 years that the mercury has settled to as low as minus 8.4 degree Celsius in Srinagar, "As per our record minimum temperature of minus 8.3 degree Celsius was recorded in 1995", he said, reported Hindustan times.

As per the metrological department records in the last 40 years the lowest temperature was recorded in 1986 when the mercury settled at minus 9 and then in 1991 at minus 11.8 degree Celsius. today, is the third lowest temperature recorded in Srinagar.

All water bodies including the world famous Dal Lake is frozen. The surface of those water bodies are so hard that at many places people are walking on them.

Besides Srinagar, the minimum temperatures continued far below than the normal in other parts of the valley, setting at minus 11.1 degree Celsius in Pahalgam, Qazigund, the gateway town of J&K  recorded minus 10.0 degree Celsius, Kokernag recorded minus 10.3 degree Celsius. While Kupwara recorded minus 6.7 degree Celsius.

Gulmarg the word famous skiing resort, recorded minus 7.0 degree Celsius.

Leh recorded minus 14.0 degree Celsius, Kargil minus 19.6 degree Celsius, while Drass remained the coldest in the country where the mercury dipped to minus 28.3 degree Celsius.

Kashmir is in the middle of harshest 40 days period of winter 'Chillai-Kalan', which ends on January 31.

GST Collection At All-Time High Since Its Implementation,almost touches Rs.1.20 lakh crore in January 2021

 On the eve of Union Budget 2021, the GST revenue collected for the month of January 2021 has touched nearly Rs 1.20 lakh crore. The tax collection is higher than the December 2020 record, which witnessed an unexpected rise of 11.6 per cent. This is the highest GST revenue the government has collected since the rollout of the Goods and Services Tax regime. India Begins Dry Run For Covid-19 Vaccination In All States and UTs Today , Here's All You Need To Know

 India is all geared up for the mega Covid-19 vaccine dry run today. With 17,080 fresh Covid-19 cases, India's Covid-19 toll now stands at 10,303,409. The country's death toll has mounted to 148,719. With 1,935,636 cases, Maharashtra has highest number of Covid-19 cases,followed by Karnataka 918,544,Andhra Pradesh 882,612.
