Protesting Farmer Unions agreed to join talks with the Government over the Farm Laws on 29th December'2020
The protesting farmer unions on 26th December'2020 decided to resume their talks with the government and have proposed to hold another round of talk with Center at 11 am on December 29 to resolve the ongoing issue of three farm laws.The decision was taken at a meeting of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha umbrella body of 40 farmer unions protesting at Delhi borders against new farm laws.
Farmers made it clear that their agenda for the meeting will focus on repealing the new farm laws and guarantee for minimum support price at which the government procure crops from farmers.
The farmers also demanding amendments in the Commission for the Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas Ordinance,2020 to exclude farmers from its ambit as well as they proposed to change Electricity Bill 2020 to safeguard the interests of farmers.
Moreover,at the press conference,farmer leader Darshan Pal said that it is also decided that farmers will hold a tractor march on Kundli-Manesar-Palwal(KMP) Highway on December 30 on protest against the three agri laws.
While the government has presented these laws as major reforms aimed at helping farmers,the protesting farmers have expressed worry that the new laws would open the way for eliminating the safety cushion of the MSP and will leave them on the mercy of big corporates by weakening the mandi system.
