Another Mock Drill Of Covid-19 Vaccination Across India On January 8,2021

 Ahead of the Covid-19 vaccine rollout, a second dry run will take place on January 8 across all districts of the country except in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Wednesday.

While Uttar Pradesh has already concluded the dry run in all districts on January 5, Haryana is scheduled to organize the same on January 7.

Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan will hold a meeting with state health minister at 12:30 pm on Thursday to brief them about the exercise.

"We have had two limited exercises, the first was only in four states and the second mostly in state capitals. From what I understand the exercise on 8 January will be countrywide, in every district where three to four session sites will do a dry run to test the feasibility of a simultaneous countrywide exercises", said a senior health official.

"At least three session sites in every district will be a part of the exercise. States will be told about the details tomorrow."

"The entire planning of the vaccination drive, including beneficiary registration, microplanning and vaccination at the planned session site, will be tested under the leadership of District Collector/ District Magistrate. The dry run will also familiarize the State, District, Block and Hospital level officers on all aspects of Covid-19 roll-out", a press statement by the health ministry said.

The statement added that the dry will be conducted across more than 700 districts in all states and Union Territories.

Each district will identify three types of session sites, similar to the previous dry run including a public health facility (District Hospital/Medical College), private health facility, and rural or urban outreach sites.

The Ministry said that around 1.7 lakh vaccinators and 3 lakh vaccinations team members have been trained on the process to be followed at the vaccination sites which include beneficiary verification, vaccination, cold chain & logistics management, bio-medical waste management, AEFI management, and reporting on CoWIN software.

The first vaccine dry run was held on 28 and 29 December in four states Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat and Punjab.

A second countrywide dry run was held in all state capitals on 2 January. The state governments were then asked to carry out a mock drill in at least three sites.

India's tally of cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is at 10,374,932 after the Union health ministry on Wednesday said the country had logged a total of 18,088 new infections in the preceding 24 hours. The country's recovered cases are nearing 10 million, and are currently at 9,997,272. Death toll due to the pandemic too crossed 150,000 and is currently at 150,114. Active cases, meanwhile, slumped further to 227,546.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, India counted two more persons infected by the new strain, taking the total number of people in the country infected by the new variant to 73. "The total number of cases infected with the new strain of the novel coronavirus first reported in the UK now stands at 73", the health ministry said.

All these people have been kept in single room isolation in designated healthcare facilities by respective state governments, the Ministry added.

India becomes fastest country in world to complete over 6 million vaccination

 The world’s biggest inoculation drive began in India on January 16 with two indigenously-manufactured Covid-19 vaccines – Covishield and Covaxin. GST Collection At All-Time High Since Its Implementation,almost touches Rs.1.20 lakh crore in January 2021

 On the eve of Union Budget 2021, the GST revenue collected for the month of January 2021 has touched nearly Rs 1.20 lakh crore. The tax collection is higher than the December 2020 record, which witnessed an unexpected rise of 11.6 per cent. This is the highest GST revenue the government has collected since the rollout of the Goods and Services Tax regime.
