India Reports 6 More Fresh Cases Of New Strain Of Coronavirus, Total 96 Cases have Been Detected So Far

 The Union Ministry Of  Health and Family Welfare announced on Monday that a total of 96 persons have been detected positive with the new strain of Covid-19.

No fresh cases of the new strain of coronavirus was reported in last 24 hours in India, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on January 10 (Sunday). Earlier on January 9, the Ministry had said that the tally for the new variant of coronavirus has reached 90 with 8 more fresh cases in last 24 hours.

All the people who have tested positive for the new variant of the virus were kept in single room isolation at designated health facilities by the respective state governments, the ministry had earlier stated.

Their close contact have also been put under quarantine and a comprehensive contact tracing exercise has been initiated for the co-travellers, family members and others, the ministry said, adding that the genome sequencing of other specimens is going on.

The situation is being monitored and regular advice is being given to the states for enhanced surveillance, containment and dispatch of samples to INSACOG laboratories.

However, flight operations between India and UK resumed from January 8. Passengers will have to undergo RT-PCR test both in the UK before boarding their flight and after arriving in India.

The presence of new UK variant has already been reported by Denmark, Netherlands, Australia, Italy, Sweden, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Japan, Lebanon and Singapore.

Around 16,311 new Covid-19 cases were reported in India in last 24 hours. The country also reported  less than 170 daily Covid-19 deaths in the past 24 hours after 229 days, 161 deaths were reported in past 24 hours with six States accounting for 69.57% of the daily deaths in which Maharashtra recorded maximum casualties of 34 followed by Kerala 23 and West Bengal 19.

Moreover, the total active cases in the country has fallen to 2,22,526 which is 2.13 per cent of India's total cases. The country also added 19,299 more recoveries which took the recovery rate of the country to 96.43 per cent which is among the highest in the world.

Of the new cases, 80.25 per cent are concentrated in nine States/UTs. Kerala has reported highest daily new cases which is 4,545 followed by Maharashtra with 3,558 cases.

On January 9, the Health Ministry announced that from January 16 India will start its vaccination drive

On January 3, Indian Drug regulator granted the emergency use authorization approval for two vaccines, Serum Institute Of India developed Covishield and Bharat Biotech's Covaxin.

GST Collection At All-Time High Since Its Implementation,almost touches Rs.1.20 lakh crore in January 2021

 On the eve of Union Budget 2021, the GST revenue collected for the month of January 2021 has touched nearly Rs 1.20 lakh crore. The tax collection is higher than the December 2020 record, which witnessed an unexpected rise of 11.6 per cent. India Begins Dry Run For Covid-19 Vaccination In All States and UTs Today , Here's All You Need To Know

 India is all geared up for the mega Covid-19 vaccine dry run today. With 17,080 fresh Covid-19 cases, India's Covid-19 toll now stands at 10,303,409. The country's death toll has mounted to 148,719.
