Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Thursday(January 7) announced the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2021 examination date and the eligibility criteria for admission into Indian Institutes Of Technology (IITs) .
"JEE Advanced will be conducted by IIT Kharagpur on July 3. The relaxation in admision requirement of 75 per cent marks in class 12 which was announced last year in view of Covid-19 pandemic will be offered this year well", Pokhriyal said.
Many students have also been asking for a third attempt at JEE Advanced. Education Minister however has not made any such announcement. The number of IIT aspirants this year are expected to exponentially increase as JEE Main 2020 candidates are also allowed to appear for this year's second stage of engineering entrance examination JEE Advanced 2021.
In 2020, JEE Advanced was held on September 27 after being rescheduled due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
The admission process for IIT has undergone changes in line with the changes introduced in the qualifying engineering entrance exam JEE Main 2021 and JEE Advanced 2021. This year JEE Main 2021 will be held four times in February, March, April and May. The dates for the first session of JEE Main 2021 are February 23 to 26. The minister added that the exams are being conducted in 13 languages for the first time.
